MagnaCare is pleased to announce that we have partnered with Web MD for
electronic claims submission. Plan sponsors, as well as
our providers can submit claims electronically through the Web MD
clearing house.
As you already know, HIPAA guidelines require payors to be able to accept claims
electronically from providers. This partnership is helping you
fulfill that obligation by obtaining a Web MD Payor ID and letting
providers use it to send us claims.
Please be aware that
once the providers set us up in their systems as a Web MD payor, we
expect all claims will come to us regardless of the address on the
cards. We may also receive your non par claims due to this. While we
understand that this may represent a change, it is clearly the way
the provider community has been moving.
Below are the benefits of
electronic claims submission:
Speed
-
Claims sent electronically are exceptionally faster to process than paper
claims
Accuracy
- Increased office
productivity for plan sponsors because of reduced manual
work
- Fewer errors
- Compliance with HIPAA regulations (837)
Cost Effective
- Lower administrative costs for plan sponsors
- Reduced billing and postage costs
MagnaCare will provide:
- Faster turn-around time
- Better tracking of claims submitted
- Elimination of the need to handle paper claims
- Reporting that can be sent electronically for tracking purposes
- The service that will make you, our client HIPAA compliant at a
significantly reduced cost
We ask that you help us
to help you by:
1) Providing MagnaCare
with up-to-date eligibility or membership on a regular basis so we
can route your claims back to you.
2) Accepting claims back
from MagnaCare electronically (in 837 or MagnaCare format) so we can
eliminate manual paper processes.
This is a significant step related to a more efficient exchange between
you and MagnaCare. Please contact your Account Manager to discuss
further.
